Set out a trap line last night starting 4 1/2 miles,
from San Antonio and ending in a straight
line 3 7/8 miles away. The trap line led
from light colored sand dunes covered with
various types of vegetation ranging in height
from two to 2 3/4 feet in height, down
to flat country. The latter was composed
of sandy soil covered with quite a bit
of gravel, making it appear quite a
bit darker than the dunes. He caught
only the light kind of Microdipodops in the
sand dune region. The last of the
sandy area was separated from the
sand-gravel region by a small wash.
