Jun 1931 Meadow Valley, 7 mi. S Caliente, 4000 ft. Lincoln Co., Nev. 45- June 17, 1931 Pinyon Pines growing along the slope. As I climbed one prominence towards a tall rock, a pair of Red-Tailed Hawks kept flying about screeching over my head. The swooped down towards me a number of times. White-Throated Swifts were quite numerous here. I found what appears to be around 1 woodchuck feces on tops of large boulders. Am not absolutely certain that this is what they are: June 18, 1931 \#227 Eutamias - F wt. 36.4g. 202-9/1-32-20. Taken June 17, 1931, 5 1/2 mi. N Elgin, 4000 ft. Lincoln Co. \#228 Perognathus formosus - F wt. 19.7g. 184-1/00-23-11.5 " " - M wt. 21.3g. 204-1/12-26-12 \#230 " " - F wt. 22.1g. 203-1/14-26-1/ Thirty five traps set up on the mountain contained 5 Perognathus. Shot one chipmunk (Eutamias sp?). These chipmunks were quite abundant around 4500 feet in the canyon east of camp. Pinyons and Junipers were growing about in small numbers. Eutamias was most abundant along the rocky ledges. Peromyscus crinitus was caught only at the lower levels. Saw some White-Throated Swifts and Cliff
