The sand is very light colored and much like ocean sand in texture. A low greyish bush is the predominant vegetation with some creosote bush & a few varied cactus. There is also a type of grass that seems to grow in small bunches but does not look like or grow like a typical bunch grass.
There are quite a few fresh gopher mounds scattered on the lower part of the slope that comes down from the hill.
