Wegener Phil 1974 Journal 42 James Bay, Isla James, Galapagos, Ecuador 9-11 Feb. 30m less than an hour & could have caught many more all were from the shell of a partially built building which consisted of 70 or 80 wooden posts 4-5" dia & 10-12' tall. Brush around base or clear, some loose bark here & there, Geckos shared the posts w/ Scorpions. It was my impression that the frequency distribution of the # of geckos/post would not differ significantly from a Poisson mean=1, but unfortunately we lacked a pencil & paper to try it. What's central now the leids were fun. Mockers, love warblers, flycatchers all present. Neweias, Hawks at one time we had 3 in engagement in rolling a net & another 15 sitting nearby as spectators. Generally they sat & watched the net striking a sound and entered. We had to watch the net continuously. Impossible to describe handsawing a but killing them. They are simply fearless. Picked up a # of birds, G-Forty St.Fuliginose most abundant. Also caught G-deficial, G-magnifying. Includes Guaraundyrus parvulus & C. psittacule. Saw Platypygia sawaflamingo spent a couplest meal with
