Journal 39 Wye Club 1974 Isla Beltra Galapagos, Ecuador 8-9Feb disturbed island, at least around the AFB. No long trees, lots of dogs, undoubtedly cats, ref's egm, etc. Trash & tourists, fishing boats, spilled petroleum, etc. Overcast mostly. Some rain a good shower lastly 30 minutes & several minor sprinkle. James Bay, Isla James, Galapagos, Ecuador 9-11Feb 2 night lie. The On the 2nd day the Wrights & the Beagle took off for Marchena to spend the 2nd night in a 3rd attempt to get the geckos They did. James is onsite, heavily touristed spot. The Saguanas & Floreana - carrying ±65 tourist apiece - were both in along with 3 very smaller tourist boats & 4 or 5 lobster boats - during the time we were there. Numerous old wrecked building (a salt industry & perhaps a cannery factory?) nearby. Fresh water permanently available, & reasonably easy access to arable land in the low country (too was charras, but it has been many years since anyone has farmed it).
