Mugs Pub 1974 Journal 58 Conway Bay, Isla Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Ecuador Feb 7-8 Confronted but I had only 4. Lots of goat feces & some bones. Patter found 2 land iguanas, about 1m in length. I was on top a patch of dampened bare earth. A nest? Never got any very useful finches - either a large G. fortis or a small G. magnirostris. Others were what we caught at trading bay. Also Mockers & warblers. Saw penguins both in the sea off Conway & amongst mangroves. Isla Baltra, Galapagos, Ecuador 8-9 Feb Picked up at the port pier to drop Dottie off & refuel. Wright went to nearby Daphne for legends. 76 & set traps out on Baltra mostly around the building. After dark Patter noticed a large # of rats in a turtle pen nearly Air Force Base so we moved a dozen traps up there & caught 8 rats, about 12 in all. No trouble getting the Iguanas & geckos. Last for two years ago the geckos were scarce but this year they as abundant & large. Went out in 3 groups, picked up 9 in a hour & a half. One pile of turtle blocks was particularly productive. We were forbidden from taking any furthre. In general this is a dull severely
