Meyer phil 1974 Journal 16 Garden Bay, Isla Espanola, Galapagos, Ecuador 26-27 J again we find skull with smashed rostrums. also lots of goat burnt faces, some of the bones no more than a few months old. also the 2013 tree near the store were browsed into a shape [illegible], & broken fork branch ends were obvious. Janet saw one snake. I saw one smallish centipede (4"). No scorpions. where we landed there was a 10' palm log washed upon the beach. must have come from Chealbay, a new likely Ecuador. School wants cray in the surf - at least six. Weather continues breezy, partly cloudy. day temps are in 80's, night in 60's. with the wind it can be fairly chilly. No mosquitoes of note on Espanola, tho there certain were on Santa Cruz, Barrington, & Wreck Bay. 2 short tared owls followed ahead as we walked along the beach after dark. Calling, diving at us - acted as if they had a yearly vest. Black Beach Isla Floreana, Galapagos, Ecuador 8 hour cruise arrived late afternoon. Lots of satellite islands - a Garden, Cinderby, Corral del Diablo, etc. all sizes & distances from Isla Floreana. Good fishing, th crew says, despite our lack of success at trolling (one bonito which fell off half way to the ship.) Many
