Barrington Bay, Isla Barrington, Galapagos, Ecuador 22Jan speculations F Finch nesting was generally poor this we caught lots of warblers & especially Morklingbirds. Species caught were Geospiza scandens ( most common), the we could only catch F's (M's were seen often), G. fuliginosa, G. fortis & Caatlider in decreasing order of abundance. We saw one hawth, banded by De Vries (#19) & perched on a branch above the pile of rat traps. The rat fell immediately of frog, despite the fact that we were working all mice away from them & they had been practically active. Try stayed "frozen" until its bank left, well photographed & very frustrated, 45 minutes late. Most of do time it perched on a trap (with a rat in it) which I had set a few feet to the side. I photographed it from a distance of less than 3 feet. There were lots of propellums & they were easy to catch. There seemed to be a disproportionate large # of G's, as at least of F's w/out the typical red on the throat. I saw a single landiguana, which I photographed. It was small, ~15" & very skittish. All other guanas were present the in small #s. One green
