275 km NW Villa Hayes rd, Dept. Pte. Hayes, Paraguay 24 Aug time. Then walked downstream along the 5 bank to the vert dam, crossed it, & explored the area immediately on the other side. I shot a Tamandua? which I gave to Wetzel. It was no with a white body & a black collar. He asked if I remembered how many were like this & how many had the rear half of the body all black. My best recollection is that either 2 black to 4 white or 3 & 3, not counting this individual. This beast was in palm swamp, scratching around in grass. Went out by the dam. Shot 2 foxes. that a Felis geoffryi, a very large one, & I shot one of the red faced foxes, (which I gave to them. Many lost hair in tail & partial hind legs). Saw about 20 or 30 other foxes. Quiet at 9:15 P.M. Windy (also it rained somewhat for an hour or two around dark), very warm (~30°C), partly cloudy. On the
