The w/ea sw E wind screwed up the net over the pond, caught only one M. nigrican. From the roast we caught, 19 alleron, 17 M.nigrican, 4-1 M.lassops (gave to Martin). No combat escaped (went thru net). Quit 7:30 PM. clear, w/ea sw wind, temp about 28°C. 24Aug strong N wind. 6:30 AM min temp 14.5°C, 7:30 AM 19°C. did the lunkhouse roof very rotten, not many appropriate boards. Bat torped, but not very. a few escaped. on grp w. 7-9 M nigrican, 2/grp w 18' & 19's M.nigrican, 1 solitar M.nigrican & 1 large grp, 4-9 M.nigrican, 6-9 M.alleron, & 13 9's M.alleron. one of the 9's was a recapture & bat captured here, taken to charria & released there on Aug 20. Met Wetzal & Forth at 12 Mon, went in to Charria. 275 km NW Villa Hayes, rd., Dept. Pte Hayes Paraguay walked over to the old charras across the river, with Lavel & Wetzal. Caught most of the large hairy armadillo (Stati's poyu) which we tried to set back alive but it later escaped. Feces full of small (4"-5") white & red nematods - a seeing mess. Pig fly, tho not much. Not as many licker birds as a month ago, & hardly any of the vermilion crown flycatchers. Pete thinks they may have been migrati
