Nancy Phil 1973 Journal 148 474km NW Villa Hayes, 20 Dept Boqueria, Paraguay 30 July. This is like press last night sit except there is no pond. Considerably dead wood very soft cotton, lining the road right parallelly to the road 30ft or so back into the river swery. Probably been there since the road was built. Into this went 19 collapsible Shermans & my 15 homemade non-collapsible Shermans. Vegetation like before, but more castes especially a leaved which has glaudrial leaves that flat in the ground mats. Various spines. Lots of armadillo holes, deer's pig tracks. Parrots including a new, unidentified (so far) kind. Chorata. Looked hard for Cleomys leucurus, finally found a few old ones about 3km outside of the road, too late to do anything about it. Drove up & down the road from 2:30-8:30 PM with Bob could not catch 1 Totus bolito & sacava fox. Not much moving, the rest were too tired to stick with it very long. Afterward (4PM) I went for a walk. In about a km I saw 3 Totus Bolito & caught 2: a 8's & a 9. Both reacted strongly to the light & I couldn't see what they were doing except that we was surrounded by a lot of angry termites including a bunch clinging to its belly. I located all three le's sound of, I believe I heard several others, weather hot. Paying 32 or so overnight dead in evening. 390km NW Villa Hayes, 20 Dept Boqueria, Paraguay (29 July) Forgot to add star appropriate place that is mid morning
