Juncal 138 25 July km's Tobatily to Dept. Cardellus, Paraguay. the other, some breeze goes there to lower temp. short birds in the brush around the cave. One (Pete put it up) Troglodytes aeder, one (might ?) & Myospiza humeralis. Also picked up a dark large bug in the back of the worm cave. 17 km E Laguna Luzo, Dept. Central, Paraguay 23 July weather continuing overcast, drizzling, cold. Temp in 50's. Birds very active. Put up 2 nets, hunted w/ dust. Shot for a couple of hours. saw lots, collected the chichi spine-tail & a seed eater, dryzoborus angloensis. Pete collected a great catlin (maybe) & a turd bird, flycatcher, etc. Saw 2 foxes crossing the road. cleared up by PM. 275 km NW Villa Hayes Luzo, Dept. Pte Hayes, Paraguay 25 July left Founcaia 6:30 PM. Overcast cool drizzling again. Almost turned back when rain started falling at km 35 decided to continue. Overcast & threatening all the way here (Cherrua). In lab PM it cleared, Temp cool. At 3:30 PM in temp 16°C, at 7:30 PM 13°C. Strong wind during afternoon, decreasing in late afternoon but still strong enough to mess up the net at 6-7 PM. Days are lengthening - dark now at 6 PM. Rained little here. Buzzies and zump fella weekago. Bat roost very quiet. No noise in lab.
