6 July OK a cricketine caught near the bromeliad trees above.
weather cloudy, warm humid.
Last nights' traps flat, esp. the molossids.
extended the line of traps to around 80 traps.
Mostly thus humely 2nd gravel. Very dense grass over also along the edge of sugar cane field.
About 20 set along the edge of forest a short distance within. Very open except where the bromeliads grow.
Opened only the net over the pond.
Using a mixture of waffle flat papaya for bait since we forgot peanut butter & our calmed tawls fowl
Caught 4 bats, all but 1 Eptesicus were molossids.
Saw 4 rabbits well in forest or sugar cane. Track of coati, deer, rabbit & fox (?) on sandy road after the cane.
Handcaught a cricketine on a palm. It was eating palm nuts perched on falling fronds about 4 feet off of the ground.
Dazzled by the light. There I caught up both very juveniles. The other was large, a light reddish brown color w/ white belly. Same long, hairless tail. When I grabbed it an other ran up the spine of the palm tree.
