Wyer, Phil 1973 Journal 125 Salta de Pirareto, 10 km S Purebeluy, Dept. Cordellera, Paraguay. 27 May dense vegetation very thorny. Many camelids. No sign anywhere. Caught nothing one trap spring & we heard the dog yelp when he did it. Chased down & caught a chinocete in the stream after slightly wounding it with pasty I could run faster in shallow water than it could swim under the surface. Because of live animal 28 May & because it rained a little in the AM (& looked like more) we decided to leave. Lots of stuff blowing. The Palo Borracho has great butch lapachost many others as in flúin. Particularly bushes & herbs. 31 May Peralota, Asunción, Paraguay Handcaught an eptesious on the path floor. 5 June Weather has been wet, warm. N storm. Many mosquitoes. 4 km ESE Asunción, Paraguay Quenita Rivola. Warm, partly cloudy, windless. Best free bat, 4 Eptasiens & a Molossus caught right away late (6) caught 3 Sturmius, 7 tritubes, 1 Molossus, Vampyrops, & 1 Molossus. 6 June Peralota, Asunción, Paraguay. Fig tree fruiting by patio. Fruit small - largest are ½" dia., mostly seed. Best lots of bat.
