Journal 14 km ESE Iturrición, Paraguay 22 April nets closed at 10 PM. 23 April Villa Norris, Iturrición, Paraguay Suburbs - Olesen's house. Warm, partly mostly cloudy. 1 Eptesicidae, 2 Antilobes, 1 Sturnia. Very fat bats. 24 April clearer, still warm. 1 Eptesicidae, 2 Antilobes, 1 Vampyrus. Recoleta, Iturrición, Paraguay 27 April very warm, humid, cloudy. 1 net over pool, 1 net we park. 1 Eptesicidae (#7), accidentally killed) collected again park, 1 Vampyropus (!) also. 16 eggs, 3 large dark Maclean, over prof. 20 km NNE Encarnación lyrd., Dept. Itapúa, Paraguay 29 April Hard rain, started yesterday. cool. Looks like first of the big white storms. Road to Pilar closed, so we came here (hotel El Tricol, run by Reinhardt). Rainforest, but low weed cut over. Permanent streams. Very rocky & hilly. Caught a frog in the basement & a Carolia in the bar. Owner says that they see many Carolia in houses. Looks like a go nice place (but too wet to tell). Driven up to fruit region at Trinidad. Very large bat roost high up in one of buildings, can't tell what bird. Probably could be netted.
