Boguerei Paraguay Tried to get into Dr. Maags ranch, la Estrella but the road was a gate across, it with "Hier jagen verboren" written across it. Since the road crosses several other estancia before Maags we decided not to chance it & camped a few [illegible] hundred meters along (the road to Maag's ranch is at 467, approx). Arrives about 3PM. Not tough in 90's, dusty, very dry. The land & dries gradually, but after passing Salazar there is notably less swamp & more thorn forest. There was = little standing water nearby road to Fila- delfia, but beyond there hardly anything ove puddle at 460. Vegetation is very diverse & all thorny. Dulbracho, Palo sants, a pair # of Palo lobrauelos. Several kinds of cactus. Many trees with holes. I looked at 50+ & one smelled badly & possibly had dropping, so we set a net near the eulians. Set out my 25 snaptraps & one steel trap. Very hot, going thru th thorns. Saw lots of mouse sign - new ways to droppings & urine stains. The forest is nearly impenetrable for
