4 March Hard rain in late PM, cooled things off somewhat (from 95 to 90!)
Lots of frogs calling after the rain stopped - especially those that sound like cats ( [illegible] around the swimming pool ) & a new noise, a staccato barking, rapidly repeated (~2-3/sec). This is made by a lylied. Caught 2 in trees & a third, somewhat different lylied also in the palms by the pool. The 2 barkers have a lot of yellow on side & legs.

12 March 2 roadside ponds under near medium monte. # Medium - Many mosquitos & lots of tiny gnat-like things (didn't hit). Standing water comes in cattle footprints in grass. Ponds too deep to net properly, so put up 1-18' & 1-30' net, one at edge of each pond. Caught & released a Noctelia labialis, one [illegible] or caught at 8:20 had an empty stomach. One also & caught at 9:15 had a full stomach. Saw no fox. Weather clear & cold. Temp down into mid 60's at night. 2 blankets! Windless.
