Weyes Plub 1972 January 91 295 km NW Villa Hayes 12th Dept Pt. Villa Hayes, Paraguay. 2 Feb Probably 40 or 50 total 2 dead Procyon this side of Rio Negro. Arrived Villa Hayes 2:15 PM. Weather more Asano at Rio Negro (where we ate lunch). I talked to the boss of a Pozo Azul ranch. He said they always had a few vampires, & had just had a well sickness of what they thought Tubercolis. They do not vaccinate for rabies except during epidemics, such as occurred 3 or 4 years ago in this area. Horse bites common, they say. 3 Feb Peoleta Asuncion, Paraguay bagotyped 207 di Phyllotis. Fair nice. weather changed - plebs cold front (compas etwiel speaking) came there, some rain. 5 Feb bagotyped 2 more, a Phyllotis & an Akodon difficulties - took too long. 6 Feb warm, clear, weendles. Met over pool - stayed with it until 3 AM, then up at 6:30 AM & closed it. 16 bats, some tattooed, some banded. Moved Molossus, Eptesicus & Lasius during first hour. Then slow - Lasius age buckled in. Picked up a little at 3 (3 lots). Between 3 AM & 6:30 AM another wiped bag but good business - Lasius ega & borealis, Campyrops, 2 op. Molossus.
