Wager plus 1973 Journal 84 Recoleta, Asuncion, Paraguay 13Jan warm (90°F), partly cloudy, S winds. Humid. 4 bats only. (net over pool) 15Jan net over pool. weather has changed to positively chilly. 77° at 10PM. Mostly cloudy, med. wind. Not much activity seen or heard. New hatch of Beede marinus - a rather metamorphosis. lots of little food. My workmen brought me a partially beheaded snake from the heavy grass near the swimming pool. Mangled, but I pickled it. 23Jan wetted porch. warm, cloudy. 1 bat died, put up. 230km NW Villa Hayes Blvd., Dept. P to Villa Hayes, Paraguay 27Jan Drove out in our car! Started yesterday, but generator burned & we returned after only 30 km. Today a shock absorber broke, but we went on anyway. Hot (35°), dry, extremely dusty, variable wind, partly cloudy. Haven't rained for about 10 days here. Not much standing wet. Few mosquitoes. Lots in bloom including the quelchaches & much small stuff. Net up on porch. Caught only 3 Myotis even the I left them up all night. Also one Lasiurus, ago which tried to cross the porch (from the outside). 11PM temp 30°C.
