Chaco Hwy. Depto. Pte. Hayes, Paraguay
260t cleared me set after another closing it when finished. Took me until 10:30 to get all sets closed - t caught several bat in the closed nets. I had the impression that the molossids hit my nets early & stopped soon. No Eptesics fassin & Myotis never quit. The air was thick with bats - I didn't catch but a small fraction of what was there. Weather was clear - Temp 85F no wind, humidity seems high. Lightning in 5, which portends a shift in weather & rain. Released 52 molossids of 4 species, 5 kept. 13 trauragryllus were Myotis released, 1 (?) kept, 6 dissected but not put up. 16 Eptesics released # 14 put up, 7 dissected but not put up. 3 fassin egg put up, 6 released, 6 dissected & not put up. (? little brown Myotis put up. 1 redding Myotis put up. Gross total of 56 molossids (84 sp), 79 vespertiliani (5+sp), or 135 bats in all (+4 ruined nets).
