Wyer Plei, 1972 Journal 65 230 km NW Villa Hayes Dep't Pte Hayes, Paraguay. There was slight breeze from the north. 1500 Hot. Very little todo. Strong N. wind. PM - netted Clover under the tin roof again. But came out a little late this evening - no catching until 7:50. Is this due to my netting? There were lots out, fluttering around the porch, at 7:35. Petero Mandeuyi, 20 km SW km 205 of Trans-Paraguay Highway, Dep't Pte Hayes, Paraguay 2600 This is a Petero m & Weiler's estancia. Beautifully mantled - damp herb, lots of ground cover, largely Grevillea, & palm grove savanna alternating with high, deep forest. I found a number of bat roosts, several of which looked promising. One gable end had a hole about 15' off the ground which was identical to one I had where we caught Noctilio 4 nights ago. Worm straight position at. The house at the rear has corrugated tin planks sheets over wooden planks, & it is loaded with bats. During the hot part of the day some leave the space between the planks & enter a dark room, staying near the beams in the ceiling. I make out at least 3 species - the small black mystis, the medium gray mystis & the medium gray Molasser, similar to similar to what we saw under the roof at 250 km. The mystis are all clustered together, the single Molasser is apart. Near the house is a 'Para todo' tree (yellow flowered leguminaceae)
