Weyer Pleb 1972 Journal 54 30 Sept corner Kubitschek's Generalissimo Franco, Asuncion Paraguay a 10-bat night. Put up 2 met, 1 over swimming pool/over yard. Ran them about every 15 minute. Weather warm, ~75F, clear, & little wind. First captures (6:20) were the small molossid, then a couple of myotis [illegible] & large molossids (~7:30) with Tascien not coming until later (29). The one Myotis Br also later (29). The two phylllostomials were caught sometime between 10 & 5. Released one, an Artibeus sp. I watched the net over the yard from about 6:10 to 6:30 PM. Bat after bat flew up to it & veered away as I came over. Several types distinguishable. 30 Oct increasing wind & lowering temp. Caught one 7 Oct (see notes) Eptesicus vlei. I banded tattooed & released next day 8 Oct Thailand [I hope]. A cold spell which started 30 Oct still cool (65F) slightly windsy. Put 5 nets up around house. Found no eptesicuis floatin in swimming pool. Still alive. Banded, tattooed & released the following day. Cloudy looks rainy. Kubitschek's place going in West in fruit yard. Mrs Tobati Dept Cordillera, Paraguay 12 Oct arrived 9AM. Sunny, clear, temp in 80s. Some wind! This is the area we visited on 7 Oct (notes) & look for bat caves.
