18 Sept continued warm wind strong from
North. PM - drive to Berrie Camp, but
put 6 nets; 2 L to edge of forest, project out into pasture, 1 across road [illegible]
nutrient are water (a small fresh
water pond used a dugout which was
sitting nearby to get out to set the net),
1 near tree lg blding & 1 L to forest,
sticking out over edge of lake. Shot a
rabbit in clear forest area. Machi says
they are common where soil is sandy.
Saw only its skull at first, very
slut gummed; same stick black strip &
refour face pattern & literally no tail.
Saw 9 cancan in the pond; to several
of the two-climbing flyfish on bushes.
10 PM - very windy. Hot - temp <80 F
(inside thermometer). But seen, caught
6 more basses in net L to field. Released
all. Wind knocked over one net.
19 Sept continuing windy. Hot rainy ~100F at noon.
Net 2 had been knocked over by wind
or horses (L to field & lake) or
had been dragged down into lake
by a combination of both wind,
& fish. The latter was complete.
