July 1972 Journal 49 Boguerin 3 km NW Villa Hayes, Dept Whtays, Paraguay 18 Sept continued warm wind strong from North. PM - drive to Berrie Camp, but put 6 nets; 2 L to edge of forest, project out into pasture, 1 across road [illegible] nutrient are water (a small fresh water pond used a dugout which was sitting nearby to get out to set the net), 1 near tree lg blding & 1 L to forest, sticking out over edge of lake. Shot a rabbit in clear forest area. Machi says they are common where soil is sandy. Saw only its skull at first, very slut gummed; same stick black strip & refour face pattern & literally no tail. Saw 9 cancan in the pond; to several of the two-climbing flyfish on bushes. 10 PM - very windy. Hot - temp <80 F (inside thermometer). But seen, caught 6 more basses in net L to field. Released all. Wind knocked over one net. 19 Sept continuing windy. Hot rainy ~100F at noon. Net 2 had been knocked over by wind or horses (L to field & lake) or had been dragged down into lake by a combination of both wind, & fish. The latter was complete.
