Chaco Experimental Station, 295-km NW Villa Hayes

14 Sept 9 PM no bat, also saw some flying. It is
temp 81F. stiff wind, humidity continues.
15 Sept AM - [illegible] tropical screech owl,
reidentified nightjar, & one brown parrot. All birds
released. Drove up to Berrie camp on
El Rio Verde about 15 km N of here.
Much wetter, sandier said. Vegetation &
habitat much diverse by far. They're
been collecting madly - have nearly 200
mammals include some small marsupial
we don't have here (Monodelphis is
common, & there are many Marsupis).
They see small cat & puma tracks, & Berrie'saw an ocelot, Jaguar tracks & tapir &
capybara skulls found. & They've also
collected a sp Astes & a Tatu payu,
neither of which we've seen here. They
A rodent, phyllothere, etc. looked similar.
Also reported seeing two maned wolves.
Saw one [illegible] - a Brochus? - about
4 feet long in the entrance to a
large hole near the R. Verde. They've
collected what may be 2 cold snakes,
also Mozauna, Tamandua Erycyn (?). But
they do very little at V.W.
They have collected a pair of vampire, &
