Chaco Experimental Station 295 km NW Villa

12 Sept. Tapacho, Paraiso, several merisoid &
papilumatos legumes, [illegible] tree &
many kinds of herbs. There is about
the same amt of ground water as
there was in June tho the w level
fluctuates considerably w. rain.
Lots of mosquitoes - especially right after
the rain. evening warm- low 70's. &
nearly (off & on).
13 Sept. 27 mice in traps, 2 thodon types were so
badly damaged (heads chewed off) that I pitched
them. Rest are #s 361-381. 109gms., almost
abundant of 3+ type - about 1/2 of the traps were
set in grass, the other half in brush heaps
in the midst of the grass - shelvitary
in distance a
meter or a few feet apart. afternooon

Many traps sprung &
dragged, probably by
armadillos. bad amt
damage to the mice &
most were pretty rotten
when I stuffed them
probably caught early in evening.
