Myers Phil 1972 Journal 39 Cerro Santa Tomas, 3 km E Paraguari, Post Paraguari, Paraguay 3 Sept. probably Abrotoperys auritia. + they were dustered tightly together hanging from the ceiling at the very back of the cave. Not torpid - very alert when the light struck them yet not difficult to capture with the net 2 q's & 1 o . One of the q's (#339) was rather badly bitten in its ears & wings while in the bag, & deeemed to have a deformed nose. She was reproductively inactive too, while the other q was very pregnant. The cave we were disappointed in general - looked like the cave should have more bats. We asked 2 ranchers about other caves, or places where bats are abundant. No one knew of more caves but all said that bats were common - 'flying' Carlita skunk under the Verbena Burros death tree. Saw a captive monkey (cebiche) supposedly captured locally. Owners said they were common as well saw such as peccary & deer. corner Kubitabek & Galisimo Franco, Asuncion, Paraguay 3rd day of hot clear weather. 6 Sept temps in the 90's. For the first time the rufous collared sparrows are really
