nuggets phil 1972 journal 31 17 km E of Jagueby rd, Dept Central, Paraguay. This is the area trapped. 13 Aug Jumbo June 17. Went back to Koford. Set 32 snaptraps in low & forest brush (15-20 ft high, some clear area beneath), on 5th rd 20 traps in grassland on N of rd. Guinea pig sign everywhere. Saw fox tracks, heard a fox (a coughing, whistling sound # Koford imitated & the fox answered the imitation) & Koford saw fox. Ran traps at 7:10, nothing. Pecked them 3:30 PM, caught 2 Onczymps (#305 & 306), #1 Phileander (#307), all in Koford's traps. 2 of the traps in the grass were spring but no mice. Koford also had a few spring trap. Night was warm (~65-70), clear & w/ a wind coming up in early morning. 14th July 20 km E of Jagueby rd, Dept Central, Paraguay after setting traps we drove to bridge over the Salado river at the N end of the lake (R. Salado???). Saw 5-6 large, narrow-wing bats flying near bridge (they seemed to come from under it, flew around a point & disappear). We set up one net & at 7:30 AM so we caught a small Noctilio (#308).
