Mugs Pied 1972 Journal 26 8 km by rd to Concepcion, Depto Concepcion, Paraguay. 23 July near a suspicious looking dead tree not far from here : all two set away citrus tree along driveway leading shorter to building, 1 set near outdoor light, by bldg, & mo set between fig tree & cornal. The net set by the lake were still the best producers . 2 vespertilionids aerities several molossids. The net by the dead tree produced a Trachops-like beet & another fly (los tumbados (#260). traps pulled. drove set towards ito R Ypana, but rd blocked by bad bridge. walked a few km . very sandy area, where erosion has cut several very shallow gullies & left strands patches of vegetation . looks very desert. This borders on low forest (with lots of guebracho), & in the sand we saw tracks of fox procyonids, cat, deer, pigs & smaller stuff. # traps same. 24 July 2 water net . still warm looking, but clouds up in late afternoon, nothing good. 2 more vespertilionids, a couple more molossids (w/o mo new), very long, very dark as caught over the wall, & 2 very small me, caught in,
