Paraguay.
18 July but w. branches into Concepcion & to the
R. Ypani Fitches. Set out 6 nets, 3 over
the lake described above & 3 over water

were molossids, but after 9PM only
Phyllostomatids were captured. 17 bats in
19 July total, 3 sp (+/-). Net closed 6:30 AM.
No traps had been set. Nets left at
same place & more added over woods,
pads, fruticis, down the rd. Traps set
along edge of pad (15), & along trails
through grassland that is dry now
but looks as if it may be flooded
sometimes (30 traps). Picked up one chick
of alb frogs with too many joints in
its legs, gray colors (# 240). Night cool,
only 3 bats (net quiet sunny net
at 10 PM).
But we saw a Noctula leporina!
Nothing in traps in grassland or by pond.
20 July Net same. warmer. Traps set along
edge of grassland & woods (across rd from
the lab, 13 km down road from building),
& then the woods & into a swamps,
pineapple area. Inside the forest is
remarkably clear - only intermittent
patches of pineapple. Three small spaces.
No sign of mice anywhere. about 75 traps.
