lilled(?) ani, quera cackoo, white wings nightjar, ringed kingfisher, amazon kingfisher, campo flicker, cream-lored woodpecker, red-billed scythebill, vermilion flycatcher, vermilion-crowned flycatcher, kestrel, white monjita,
plush-crested jay, chalk-browed mockingbird, white-handed mockingbird, brazilian cardinal, reefau collared sparrow. All common names are from de Schauensee, 1970-Birds of S Am

Ave General Arenas 16 km NE gen Ave San Martin Asuncion, Paraguay
nets finally arrived. Very cold weather - frost under this morning (in car). Not too hopeful for bet, but we set up 5 nets at Isla de Froucca.
Two were placed over grazed area which has clump of tall grass, a few grapefruit trees & is near to banana, papaya & palm-oil palms. Net placed fairly high so bottom line 4' off of ground. #2 was set among some bananas in heavy cover - dead tree nearby, grapefruit trees, etc. No ripe bananas. Other three were set over cut grass between chicken post & fence, both in same pole w. no net above othrs.
