Meyer Pheid 1972 Journal Chaco Experimental Station, 245 km N W Villa Hayes, Depto. Pto Hayes, Paraguay 26 June picked up some more of the small marsupial. 34 traps set in dampish brushy, lot of laver nearby, + 36 set in low grass area of swamp, saw where water is deep & others on dry ground. 27 June traps from last night - unsuccessful in what we first out to do. #203 & 204 were cought in savamp, #205 in th woods. also 2 wood rats, 206-208, also latter two preserved as skeletons. leave to Pozo Colorado, learned rd was closed due to rain, at Pozo Azul. returned to station cloudy. 28 June returned to Asuncion. Cloudy most of the way. Bird list for trip (we only identified the obvious ones): neotropic cormorant, prefeasant tiger heron, american egret, whistling heron, white necked heron, jabiru, maguari stork, buff necked ibis, plumbeous ibis, roseat spoonbill, bare faced shig southern screamer, brazilain duck, muscovy duck, whit faced tree duck, black vulture turkey vulture, black collared hawk, white rumped hawk, savanna hawk, crested caracara, yellow headed caracara white tailed kite. sparrow hawk, chaco chachalaca, limpkin, giant wood rail, red legged seriema, jacana, lapwing common snipe, picui ground dove, ment parakeet, black headed parakeet, squirrel ceekee, grove
