Murray 1949 Gerrhonotus coeruleus Aug 22 French Camp, 3100 ft, Humboldt Co., Calif 700 Not at all sure of species. Found on south facing slope in open area with a rather sparse growth of grass and bracken fern. Several feet away from Douglas fir timber. In evening after sun had gone over ridge, though not yet dusk. Aug 23 Same location 701 Just across from camp in about same habitat as above but in that part just thin grass. 10:30 A.M. Sun was shining but not really warm air temp. yet. Ducked into gopher hole. Aug 24 Same location 705 On North facing slope in a burned area. Many logs, bark, some dried grass. Brush tan oak scattered around with some dead leaves. Aug 26 3 mi N Willow Creek, 700 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. Under a rotted fir log found 2 - a few feet from Coon Creek, slightly grassy with dry sandy soil. Underside of log quite moist. Well shaded area by maples. A short distance away found another out on the surface. Early evening before dusk. Sept 3 4 1/2 mi N, 1t mi E Willow Creek, 800 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. Caught 1 along Horse Sinto Creek in a patch of green grass, shaded by alders. Just before dusk, sun had set.
