R. MOON 1987 Journal 38 27 April Granite Mountains (near Kelso) to Barstow, San Bernadino co., CA. least they haven't refused to issue me a collecting permit yet ; sooner or later I'll convince them. Then Bruce and I left for Barstow to eat pizza and buy car parts and groceries. We are staying at Owl Canyon Campground (near Fort Irwin) for the night. We drove all of the roads here looking for snakes just after dark, but we didn't find any. The thunderstorms that were south of Barstow earlier missed this area and the skies are clear and star filled now.
