R. MOON 1987 Species Account Kit Fox (Vulpes macrotis) 3 may Kelbaker Road 4 mi. north of Hwy 40, San Bernadino co, CA. Brian Norton, Bruce Waggs and I saw a kit fox sitting on the road just after sunset; it move to the side of the road for a second before running off into the desert as we drove closer. This fox probably lives in the hole along the dirt road at the relay station nearby since we have glimpsed a fox in this area before. Habitat is creosote scrub on sandy/loamy soil.
