B.R. MOON 1987 Species Account Desert Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus magister) 4 May Kelbaker Road at boulder outcrops 2-2 mi. north of Hwy 40. San Bernardino co., CA. Bruce and I stopped at the boulders on both sides of Kelbaker Road at about 0930 PST to look for spiny lizards. We noosed six lizards from crevices in the boulders where they lived. One adult \u2642, one adult \u2640; two juvenile \u2642's, two \u2640's. Specimens catalogued by Bruce Wagg. 6 May Goldstone Spring, Providence Mountains, San Bernardino co., CA. T10N R14E Sec31 sw'1/4. elev. 1420 m. Two adult lizards, one \u2642, one \u2640, caught in pitfall trap under a large desert almond bush just above the spring. Habitat - edge of flat area in steep, rocky, & mostly barren (due to fire) mountains; some pi\u0147on pines & junipers still alive in area; desert almond & other shrubs in rocky ravine channels.
