Desert Spring Lizard

Bonanza King Mine, Providence Mountains,
San Bernardino co., CA. TION RHE Sec 3 nw'4. elev.~1340 m.
1430 PST, Two very large adult lizards
found on large rocks just below main
mine tunnel. Overcast, 50-75% cloud cover;
~25°C. Both lizards took cover as soon
as we saw them, from about 7m. away.

Bruce and I found an adult female
lizard under some wood beams at tunnel
entrance. Cold, windy day; lizard was
inactive when captured. Pitor-juniper wood-
land with some rocky areas & small canyons.
