noon 1987 Species Account Western Patch-Nosed Snake (Salvadora hexalepis) 9 April Kelbaker Road 4.6 mi. north of Hwy 40, San Bernardino co., CA. T8N R13E Sec 20 se'ly. elev. ~1175m. Bruce and I found an adult snake on the pavement at 0950 PST; ~25°C. Apparently S.h. mojavensis - no upper labials reach the eye. Sandy creosote scrub desert. ♂; Total length: 80 cm. Catalog #18 24 April Kelbaker Road 10.1 mi. north of Hwy 40, San Bernardino co CA. T9N R13E Sec 20 se'ly. elev. ~1075m. Found an adult snake laying on edge of pavement at 1235 PST. Warm; windy; 50-75% cloud cover (high clouds). ♂; Total length 66 cm. Apparently S.h. mojavensis. Somewhat sandy/silty creosote scrub desert. Catalog #46
