8 April Bonanza king mine, Providence Mountains, back to Dorner's camp, Granite Mountains, San Bernardino county, CA.
on a barren talus slope of mine tailings (species account: Rosy Boa).
On our way home up Kelbaker Road,
just after dark with a half moon shining
between the clouds, we found a juvenile
Mojave rattlesnake on the pavement. Just up
the road, we found another Mojave rattlesnake,
but this one killed by a car (species account:
Mojave Rattlesnake).
Then back to Dorner's camp again.
