San Bernadino co., CA.

2025 PST, Bruce, my parents, and
I found a small snake on the edge
of the pavement about 1 hour after
a thunder shower. Surrounding habitat
is Creosote-scrub desert on sandy and
rocky soil with several rocky washes
nearby.
This snake is white with red flecks
between wider black saddles. The black
saddles have white spots on the sides.
Underneath each white band there is a
black rectangle on the ventral scales where
they meet the dorsal scales. The black
saddles are two to three times as wide as
the white bands. Belly white.
