Mojave Rattlesnake
(Crotalus scutulatus)
7 May Kelbaker Road at end of pavement just
north of Hwy 40, San Bernardino co., CA.
0730 PST. Bruce and I found a large
green rattlesnake crossing the pavement during
sunny morning. Snake had about eight
rattle segments.
14 May Blair Bro's Ranch road 3.2 mi. north of Essex
Road, Providence Mountains, San Bernardino co., CA.
TION RISE Sec 18 nw'1/4. elev. ~ 1050m.
Bruce and I found a small rattlesnake
crossing the dirt road in the late afternoon
(1800 PST). Partly sunny with ~ 75% cloud
cover. Habitat- Creosote scrub; loamy soil
with some rocky and sandy washes nearby.
