B.R. MOON 1987 Species Account Banded Gecko (Coleonyx variegatus) 15 May Volcan Mine Road about 3 mi. southeast of Kelbaker Road, Providence Mountains, San Bernardino Co., CA. elev. ~950 m. I saw a gecko on the pavement near where the lowest mountain ridge extends out to the road. 2020 PST; Habitat - Creosote- scrub-Yucca on rocky soil with rocky hillsides and rocky wastes nearby. Approx 80% cloud cover; rained early in daytime before sunset; full moon but not risen yet behind clouds. 29 May Kelbaker Road 2.5 mi. south of Kelso, San Bernardino Co., CA. T10N R13E sec 7 ne'4. elev. ~680 m. Bob Macey and I collected a gecko on the pavement at about 2000 PST. The lizard is a gravid female. Habitat - Creosote bush on rocky, loamy soil. BRM 108
