Spring approx '1/4 mi. southeast of Goldstone Spring, Providence Mountains, San Bernardino co., CA. T9N R14E Sec 6 ne'1/4. elev. ~1500m. Pair of small adult toads in amplexus in puddle of spring in narrow, sandy wash below steep, barren rocky hillsides. About 1400 PST; overcast ~30-50% cloud cover; ~30°c. Toads tried to hide under edge of small rock as I watched. When captured they made no attempt to separate.
