18 May Dorner's Camp, Granite mountains, San Bernardino co., CA. Stayed around Dorner's cabin for most of the day. We've been here almost two months and Bruce and I are getting tired of the isolation. We're not too thrilled about each other's company either; I've been doing a lot of the hard hikes and hard work myself because he's too lazy and doesn't want to have to hike to new places to see them. He's also much too careless about capturing rattlesnakes. He also wants to collect and kill every specimen he finds. Recently he killed a large speckled rattlesnake just to skin it so he could take the skin home. He also stole a U.S. Geologic Survey marker just to add to his collection of personal junk. That really upset me so I'm going to find out what I can do about it so he becomes discouraged about doing similar things in the future. Bruce gets upset with me because I often don't want to night drive and look
