17 May
Southeast of Goldstone Spring, Providence
Mountains, San Bernadino Co., CA.
Middle it became narrow with steep, rocky
sides and somilimes vertical cliffs.
Then down past the upper spring and
past Goldstone Spring all the way back
to my car at the pipeline road. It's
much hotter down near Vulcan Mine than
it was up on the high ridges.
1500 PST; the entire hike from the
pipeline road up to the peaks and back
down to the road took just under seven
hours.
Then back to the Granites where Bruce
had stayed for most of the day because
he didn't want to do a hard hike (too
lazy).
I looked up what Bighorn sheep pellets
looked like and verified that I had seen several
piles of sheep pellets on the high ridge in
sec 5 of T9N R14E.
