June 15 Patneger River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
One flushed and incorrectly identified as
a snipe.
June 18 a pair seen twice in flight at north end
of Loon Marsh.
June 19 Flushed 2 from same area twice near loon
nest
20 June collected 2 and saw 6-10 more definitely
nesting in polygon area across river.
30 June a pair obviously nesting across river near ponds.
3 July Several pairs upset at our setting out transects
T5+T6 at N end of Loon Marsh.
10 July Perhaps a dozen seen on way to and at White
Creek. They are much tamer now as the
gang must be out by now.
24 July Patneger River, 12 miles SE Cape Sabine, Alaska
Several seen in sedge, floaty, past bog near
lobes. None further inland.
15 Aug Patneger River, Cape Sabine, Alaska
Although the resident birds had
moved out during mid-July, there are
now a few individuals present near
T7+T8.
