Childs 1955 Erolia melanotos June 26 Point Barrow, Alaska a few heard shooting in the area. July 1 Abundant in the area. Found nest w/4 eggs near t'3 June 29 found nest w/4 eggs on log near langapunnet. July 5 Atkaunt, Meade River, Alaska a female seen. Not abundant. July 15 Wainwright Alaska a few present. Nesting. July 23 this is by far the most common sandpiper present here. As many as 6 chicks were caught in snaptraps & more of other species, Bairdi & alpine [illegible] were here only in very reduced numbers.
