Pete shot one pass the ridge
Behind Owl Ridge. It had brood
patches, so not have been nesting
in that area.
5 June Pete saw 3 on Cantun Mt. One flew
over me on bluff 2215
7 June One flew over high calling.
11 June Fairly regular calling over study area
last few days.
18 June One near plot 2-81
27 June Active in scolding caribou near 2nd Ridge
3 July Pitnugea River, 5 miles SE Cape Sabine, Alaska
again scolded me after the plane
left.
5 July They have not been seen or heard since
6 July Probably 5 pairs on the north fork. Six
scolded me at one time. A pair of curlews
also present.
7 July The gey gave us the business again today.
I now doubt they are nesting but as a
moving flock.
18 July Pitnugea River, 7 mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska
Pete shot 3 of 9 one. Several others
seen. No brood patches or other evidence
of nesting
