Childs 1958 Charadrius [illegible] 30 May Patwega River, Cape Sabine, Alaska a pair acting as if they were nesting were seen on our bar. The male (?) gave the bat-like flight & song several times. 1 June not seen for 2 days. Present in every month's tent. 5 June Regular on bar. Must be nesting 9 June One at river mouth. None around camp c lately. 5 July Pithugya River, 16 miles SE Cape Sabine, Alaska Canyon with gravel bars. A pair lives on our bar. Young not seen although distract display given on occasion. I would estimate 1-2 pairs per mile of stream 12 July collected one. 17 July Pithugya River, 7 mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska A newly hatched down young was caught. It is a very attractive little bird.
