Childs 1957 Charadrinos [illegible] seripalmatus 20 June Patwega River, Cape Sabine, Alaska Collected me on flat at river mouth. Found another with downy young. 29 June at least 4 with downy young seen on bar opposite Falcon Rock and another pair ½ way back to camp. 19 July Camp A - Patwega River, mi SE Cape Sabine, Alaska This is a common bird and very evident by its action and calling on the gravel bars along the river. His quite aggressive and challenges the trespassing of other birds. It performs a bat-like flight which may be a territorial announcement. We have seen several with downy young. 24 July Pairs seen fairly regularly along the entire river. Within the limit of the river I would say this is the most abundant shore bird breeding species.
