July 19 Point Barrow, Alaska
I spotted one at my feet where it had
"frozen" in a slight depression. Saw the
third was found in a similar spot close
by. Later a flock of 7 were seen near
the trap line.
July 23 Eggs of the nest or 88 were gone when gil
checked today. Adults still in the area
and acted excited as if young were in the area.
July 28 I collected a downy young 5 of 88
Aug. 6 East Ounalik, 110 mi SSE Barrow, Alaska
Two were seen in an old lake bed being
harassed by a long tail gaua. Others have
been heard previously calling in the distance
Aug.20 Point Barrow, Alaska
There are many birds of the year out on the ridges
these days.
